Heather MacLean Profile

A warm smile, a truly compassionate personality and a strong business senses are only three of the many winning characteristics Heather Maclean of Realty Executives possesses. A Valley native who grew up in the Camelback Corridor, Heather's knowledge of Phoenix and Scottsdale neighborhoods is a tremendous asset to her clients.

Heather's career in real estate began in 1997 when she became one of the youngest actively licensed agents. After eight years in theater and modeling, she decided to take a different path, always knowing that a 9 to 5 job wasnt for her. In her first month, she sold just shy of one million dollars, starting her real estate career with a bang. And that was just the beginning.

She said, "What I gained from modeling and theater is that rejection is not a hard thing to handle. For the first six months, I picked up the white pages, chose a letter and just dialed. I simply asked them if they wanted to buy or sell real estate or if they knew anyone who did. It trained me for cold calling in a very harsh way. From there, I ventured out into calling expired and cancelled listings, as well as FSBOs. Even today,if I have time I enjoy calling them. To speak with a person who has had a challenging experience with a fellow agent and change their perception of the industry to some they enjoy is very rewarding for me."

Establishing herself in the Arcadia and Camelback Corridor markets was a great accomplishment for her. "I love the homes in that area, so I enjoy selling them. However, regardless of location, I will find the neighborhood that best suits my clients' lifestyle. I explain to my buyers, price and square footage are not the only items that should influence your decision to buy. "A house is a place to live your life in. You should be able to walk into that home and know that its the right one for you", Heather said.

Being a young professional herself, Heather can relate to her clients' needs. "I understand that my clients have a life outside of buying/selling real estate/ I make it my top priority to respect their time and handle all aspects of the transaction, including items that come up after close of escrow. My clients consist of families, single professionals, investors, and people looking for luxury properties. I realize my buyers and sellers are looking for someone who has market knowledge, is familiar with neighborhoods, and can get the best price for properties," Heather said.

Her accomplishments are impressive. Two years ago, she founded the Neighborhoods of Arcadia and Camelback tour, which has become extremely popular with fellow agents who work the area. She is one of the youngest - if not the youngest - members of the President's Roundtable and Realty Executive's 100 Percent Club. But awards are not how Heather measures her success. She stated, "The best compliment I can receive is a voicemail or note saying, "We couldn't have done it without you. We are in the perfect home and would be honored to refer you to friends and family." That is what gives me a sense of achievement. It truly makes my job worthwhile."

Helping since 2000, Nicole Serrin is Heather's transaction coordinator. "Nicole handles all my listings, follows up with buyers, and checks in with all parties involved. When I am out with clients, she pretty much runs the show. She is wonderful. I am lucky to have her," Heather says proudly.

Always enjoying her business, Heather explained that one of the best parts of her day is meeting different people from different walks of life. "I wake up in the morning and don't know what my day is going to have in store," she said with a smile. "My philosphy is do what you love and love what you do. I actually love coming to work every morning. It can be a challenge but it is also a true pleasure. I am in control of my success, and I love that."
